Welcome Message from the New Chair
I am delighted to have been elected as the new Chairman of the Rye Festival. My wife
Elisabeth and I have been enjoying events at the Festival for over 30 years and it is a great privilege to be part of the organisation. My predecessor Catty Bingham set a very high standard to follow and it is reassuring that she will remain in charge of literary events. The committee have all been working very hard and it has been fascinating for me to experience at first hand the development of the arrangements for the Festival. I can assure you that we have an exciting programme for 2013, well up to the standards and tradition of the Rye Festival, so I hope we can look forward to welcoming you at the wide range of first rate events we are arranging.
